Meet your hosts
Originally settled in 1838 by the squatter, Fred Cruickshank (after whom the Farmstay was named) the grazing property of Mihi has been in Mike's family since the early 1900s and some five generations. Mike grew up on Mihi and then moved on to North Mihi with his wife Anne, who is a city girl "gone bush". After their family grew up and left home Mike and Anne opened their property to guests in 1995 and commenced operation of Cruickshanks Farmstay.
For Mike and Anne the guests who come to stay are regarded far more as friends than clients.
Guests often leave feeling they have relived some of their childhood memories of their "holidays in the country"!
Many people from overseas visit Cruickshanks to experience the real "Ozzie" Country lifestyle first hand, returning home with new perceptions to relate to their friends.
