From Uralla

Turn off the highway at the statue of Thunderbolt on his horse into Salisbury ST, drive past McCrossin's mill then take third turn to right, then third turn to left into East ST (Tourist Drive 19) past the Foundry and cross the railway level crossing and drive for about 23km along Tourist Drive 19.

From Armidale

Follow Marsh ST to New England Regional Art Museum, where you must turn left into Kentucky ST. Then take third turn to your right, this places you on to Tourist Drive 19. STAY on Tourist Drive 19 for about 23km until you see Mihi Rd / Cruickshanks signpost where you turn onto an unsealed road. Follow this for 3.13km and there you will see Cruickshanks on the left.

From Sydney

Take the Newcastle Freeway & New England Highway to Uralla or alternatively take Newcastle Freeway to Hexham (outskirts of Newcastle) turn at bridge over Hunter River and take Pacific Highway 28 km to Buckets Way turnoff to Gloucester and then follow through Gloucester via Thunderbolts Way to Uralla. (This is the shorter trip by about 3/4 hour).

Some sections of the Tourist Drive 19 are unsealed but fine in any weather.
